Somewhere in Taoyuan is an area called Longtan, known for being a place for retirement. One of its famous attractions is the Longtan Lake or Pond where a dragon boat race is held every year.
Just next to the lake is a park surrounded by trees, with a play ground, art installations, trail and a platform (whenever there are performances, I guess).
On the opposite bank is the temple known as Nantian. A long white bridge spans the lake, connecting the temple and park.
The place definitely exudes that sense of serenity. Should you feel like wanting to forget the cares in the world, do spend an afternoon in Longtan.
